Shenandoah featuring Marty Raybon

Opening Act - Teea Goans

Date: Saturday, April 13th, 2019

When country music lovers talk about the greatest groups in the genre, Shenandoah is always at the forefront of any discussion. Fueled by Marty Raybon’s distinctive vocals and the band’s skilled musicianship, Shenandoah became well known for delivering such hits as “Two Dozen Roses”, “Church on Cumberland Road” and “Next to You, Next to Me” as well as such achingly beautiful classics as “I Want to be Loved Like That” and the Grammy winning “Somewhere in the Vicinity of the Heart” duet with Alison Krauss.

Teea Goans

What is country music? Is it a slamming backbeat slashed by electric guitar? Is it a big crescendo into the chorus, with the vocals rocketing up an octave? Is it really just about dirt roads, parties and girls riding shotgun? Or is there something missing from this picture? Well, yes. Country music is all of those things.

But it's much more. Just ask Teea Goans. She'll agree that modern country music does tell stories ... "... but not the whole story," she emphasizes. "There's so much more to it than that. Country music has always represented everybody, but lately I think that it's been narrowed down to maybe just one crowd. That means a lot of people aren't hearing songs about their lives anymore."
