The Kentucky Headhunters
The Kentucky Headhunters charted four consecutive Top 40 country singles on their debut album, Pickin' on Nashville. The Kentucky Headhunters have released seven studio albums, two compilations, and twenty singles, of which the highest-peaking song was Oh Lonesome Me, which made it to number eight in 1990. Other hits include Walk Softly on This Heart of Mine and Dumas Walker. In addition, the band has won three Country Music Association awards, an Academy of Country Music Award and a Grammy Award.
Proceeds from the Kentucky Headhunters show will benefit the Harold Shedd Music Mill Gallery. Plans are underway to open a non-profit extension at Mill Town Music Hall to serve as a tourist attraction which celebrates music history connected to the state of Georgia. While at Mercury Polygram records Nashville, Shedd signed the band to their first recording contract that launched their career. The new venue is scheduled to open later in 2013.
